This historic building was a monastery before the Communists took over. The beauty of the building and the foot-thick walls and gorgeous iron work are really worth seeing.
Our room had a heated bathroom floor - a total delight on those cold mornings and the appointments in the room were perfect.
My only suggestion, if you like to sleep with the window open, is to ask for a room that does not overlook reception. In the middle of the night the sound of roller bags dragged across the cobblestones awakened us both from a deep sleep.
The location, a short walk across the gorgeous Charles bridge, keeps you away from the hordes of tourists and is a quiet respite from some crazy crowds.
They arranged a guide for us, Marcela, who was perfect. In 3 hours she took us to the castle, the gardens, the vineyards and even back to the Charles Bridge. A perfect guide for us, we wanted to see it all and learn it all, but not dedicate a whole day.
